The Rowlinsons Team successfully completed our main fundraising challenge of the year in aid of our chosen charity partner, The Osborne Trust.
Setting off at 1:00am on Saturday 29th July, our intrepid adventurers scaled Wales’ highest peak, Snowdon, climbing a staggering 3560 ft…in the dark!
The 18-strong team fought against strong 30mph winds, persistent heavy rain, low visibility and a lack of sleep to reach the summit shortly after 5:30am. Unfortunately, due to the poor conditions there was not much of a sunrise as the team struggled to see through the low cloud cover that densely covered the top of the mountain.
This immense effort was all in aid of The Osborne Trust, the only national charity dedicated to supporting the children of a parent going through a cancer diagnosis or receiving cancer treatment or helping children cope with the death of a parent. The firm have raised an amazing £2800 so far for this challenge alone.
Haydn Roberts, HR and Practice Manager commented:
“It’s fair to say the challenge was much greater than we expected, as the conditions were particularly difficult at times especially at the top when the wind and rain made it difficult to even stand. The sense of fulfilment and adrenaline of the day made it all worthwhile though as well as raising a fantastic sum of money for The Osborne Trust.
We’d like to thank all of our staff who took part, the Directors for their support and everyone who has donated. Here’s to the next challenge!”
Emma Osborne, who founded the Osborne trust commented:
“Wow, what an amazing achievement! I know how hard the climb can be at the best of times, never mind in the dark and when battling those elements.
Thank you all so, so much for this and for everything you have done so far including the promotion of our charity. We have never seen a July like it in our whole 9 years with over 100 kids supported this month. We can’t do what we do without amazing fundraisers like you.”
