Rising Legal Star at Rowlinsons Elected as Mayor

  • Posted

Trainee solicitor Sara Wakefield has been elected Mayor of Frodsham after "falling in love" with the Cheshire town.

Sara, who moved to Frodsham 12 years ago, has been with the award-winning law firm for 4 years and is set to qualify as a solicitor in 2014.

Having been a councillor from 2003-2005, then again since 2011, it's Sara's interest in what affects the people of Frodsham and beyond which has motivated her career in law and commitment to the local community.

Sara proudly comments: "Being elected Mayor is an absolute honour. My fiancé Greig and I moved here 12 years ago and fell in love with it as a place to live, work and shop.

"I have always been interested in the decisions that affect people's everyday lives, such as planning and road safety. As vice chair of the planning committee on Frodsham Town Council I have been able to play a part in the important issues affecting the Frodsham community. That will continue in my role as Mayor on a wider scale where I promise to represent the people of Frodsham to the best of my abilities."

Sara is no stranger to successfully balancing her commitments. She studied law at Manchester Metropolitan University in the evenings while working full-time before completing her legal studies at BPP Law School.

Having joined us as a paralegal in 2009 she wasted no time in making her mark, gaining promotion to Conveyancing Executive in the firm's award-winning Conveyancing Team. Sara is now a trainee solicitor with us.  She balances that with her role as school governor of Frodsham Manor House Primary School.

Denis Stevenson, Managing Director comments: "We are delighted for Sara and not surprised that she has become Mayor. She has drive and an abundance of commitment in everything she does. She will be an excellent Mayor and serve Frodsham well. We are proud to have her in the Rowlinsons team."

Sara was part of the winning team that picked up the Property Award at the Liverpool Law Society Legal Awards last week.
