Rowlinsons Solicitors are delighted to announce that we have been accepted as a member of the Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners (ALEP).
Leasehold enfranchisement covers lease extensions, purchasing the freehold of a house or, as a group of flat owners, acting collectively and setting up a Right to Manage company for leaseholders who wish to take control of the day to day management of their building or estate. Membership of this professional association is a badge of assurance to leaseholders and freeholders that they can be sure of a consistently high level of service, integrity and professionalism.
The Association also acts in an independent capacity to ensure the quality of its membership in pursuit of best practice in all matters concerning leasehold.
Tom Parkinson, Director and Head of Property said:
“Leasehold enfranchisement has been a hot topic in recent years and the Leasehold Reform Act 2022, which came into force on 30th June this year, is hopefully just the beginning of the Government’s planned reforms in the leasehold sector. Further leasehold reform legislation is in the pipeline which aims to reduce the cost of lease extensions, collective enfranchisements, and the purchase of individual freeholds for all existing leaseholders. This is clearly a growing area of work and one which we are keen to develop at Rowlinsons.”
Nicky Jones, Solicitor and a specialist in leasehold enfranchisement commented:
“I am delighted that ALEP have accepted our application to join their association. This represents a recognition of the high level of service we already provide to our clients on all aspects of different leasehold enfranchisement matters, our appetite to keep up to date with legislative changes, our influence for parliamentary change and a keenness to be one of the few North West firms that offer these niche services.”
